Shobha Mitra (1933 or 1934-) has been the head of the Indian music section (Sri Aurobindo Ashram) for decades. In 1942 she first met the Mother, in 1951 she eventually came to settle permanently in the Ashram, while still a teenager. Dance and music were her interests and later, in the Ashram, they became her field of work and sadhana. She has put down her memories in a book «Living in The Presence», originally published in Bengali («Sri Mayer Divya Sannidhye») in 2012. The book contains also letters in Mother’s handwriting.
