The Mother’s friend in Kyoto. In 1917-18 the Mother stayed in Kyoto with Dr. Kobayashi who cured his patients through a 'still-sitting' meditation. Meditated with the Kobayashis. Painted Mme. Okhawa and Mme. Nobuko Kobayashi. The latter comes to Pondicherry in 1959.
