Mme Valentine, a close friend of the Mother’s during her days in the art studio, died in childbirth just before the Mother’s son, Andre, was born. Portrait of Mme Valentine was presented by the Mother to Ms. Maggi Lidchi, one of her disciples, in whom she recognised a reincarnation of her friend.
