Sympathise businessman and prominent citizen of Pondicherry, who had generously made his house (39, Comty Chetty Street, now — Calve Soupprayan Chetty Street) available for Sri Aurobindo's stay.

Years earlier Swami Vivekananda had also stayed here in the course of his tour of the South. It suited Sri Aurobindo's requirements admirably.

Sri Aurobindo, Bijoy Kumar Nag, Suresh Chakravati (Moni), Nolini Kanta Gupta and Saurin Bose, five men, stayed from April till October 1910 in absolute privacy.
