Esq., M.A., B.L. Formerly Additional Member of the Legislative Council of the Governor- General. A prominent lawyer and leader of Silchar. Presided over the first conference of the Surma Valley Association held at Jalsuka in Sylhet district in 1906. At the second session of the Congress in Calcutta (1886) Joygobinda Shome and Kamini Kumar Chanda represented the Habiganj Peoples’ Association.
