Banerjee, Aswini Kumar

(1866-1945). Practising as a barrister at the Calcutta High Court, he took active part in politics, particularly as the leader of mill hands. He is considered as the founder of the Labour movement in Bengal. Bold and strong-willed, Aswini Kumar was always opposed to the loyalists, but he did not believe in Ahimsa or Non-cooperation.
