On Virtue

Wealth of Kindness

Then is the ear adorned when it inclines

To wisdom; giving bracelets rich exceeds;

So the beneficent heart’s deep-storèd mines

Are worked for ore of sweet compassionate deeds,

And with that gold the very body shines.
