bṛhat, vast

Most often, the word indicates the worlds of Heaven or the quality of wideness that is characteristic of the worlds of Heaven (although sometimes the word is associated with the Mid-World, i.e. Airspace, and even with the worlds of the Earth, when Veda speaks that the Earth becomes (as a result of Vedic activities of gods and people) as wide as the worlds of Heaven). Most specifically, the word indicates Svar or the supramental nature of the described object.
