mada, intoxication

Rapture, ecstasy, often as an allusion to soma drinking, i.e. to the enjoyment of the word of Truth, an offering-hymn. The gods who get this offering, and the poets who compose such hymns, are intoxicated by it. The gods, intoxicated by the offering, grow in Rishi’s consciousness and do great deeds.
