vīra, hero

(1) A hero is one who possesses heroic (divine) power. With this force the heroic (divine) acts may be done.

(2) That part of the human being that possesses the divine power, the source of which is cit-tapas, the supreme world of Heaven, the house of heroic power virāṣāṭ.
