Dappled, spotted is name of Cow, the Mother of Maruts. It is Vedic Cow of Knowledge, that is in all three regions of Existence: in the region of Earth, in region of Middle-world and in region of Heaven: amid the mortals one udder of Prishni is swollen, simultaneously (another udder) is milked by bright (milk in Heaven), 6.66.1; dappled cows milked for Thunderer (Indrs) three lakes of honey, 8.7.10. The same meaning has epithet dappled for Agni (Agni dappled bull, 4.30.10), because Agni has two homes – Earth and Heaven.
