śās, teaching; command

Usually the word is translated as command, order. Sri Aurobindo also uses the meaning of teaching. If we consider the relationship between man and God, it becomes obvious that it is not through enforcing, but through illumination, understanding, learning, bringing of higher consciousness the motives and ways of acting of the lower consciousness are to change.
