The character of Rigveda, standing in line with Manu, Dadhyach, mentioned in connection with his deeds in remote ages: thought in Indra (1.80.16), discovery of the path (1.83.5), kindling of Agni (6.16.13, 6.16.14). His descendants or disciples, Atharvans (6.47.24, 9.11.2, 10.14.6), are mentioned along with Angirases, Navagvas, Bhrigus.
