Sukta 14
5.14.1
अ॒ग्निं स्तोमे॑न बोधय समिधा॒नो अम॑र्त्यं ।
ह॒व्या दे॒वेषु॑ नो दधत् ॥
agním stómena bodhaya sam-idhānáḥ ámartyam ǀ
havyā́ devéṣu naḥ dadhat ǁ
Awake by the laud the Fire, let the immortal be kindled and let him set our offerings in the godheads.
5.14.2
तम॑ध्व॒रेष्वी॑ळते दे॒वं मर्ता॒ अम॑र्त्यं ।
यजि॑ष्ठं॒ मानु॑षे॒ जने॑ ॥
tám adhvaréṣu īḷate devám mártāḥ ámartyam ǀ
yájiṣṭham mā́nuṣe jáne ǁ
Him they pray in the pilgrim-sacrifices, mortals the divine and immortal who is strong for sacrifice in human kind.
5.14.3
तं हि शश्वं॑त॒ ईळ॑ते स्रु॒चा दे॒वं घृ॑त॒श्चुता॑ ।
अ॒ग्निं ह॒व्याय॒ वोळ्ह॑वे ॥
tám hí śáśvantaḥ ī́ḷate srucā́ devám ghṛta-ścútā ǀ
agním havyā́ya vóḷhave ǁ
Him, the divine Fire, the perpetual generations pray with the ladle dripping the clarity for the carrying of their offerings.
5.14.4
अ॒ग्निर्जा॒तो अ॑रोचत॒ घ्नंदस्यूं॒ज्योति॑षा॒ तमः॑ ।
अविं॑द॒द्गा अ॒पः स्वः॑ ॥
agníḥ jātáḥ arocata ghnán dásyūn jyótiṣā támaḥ ǀ
ávindat gā́ḥ apáḥ sváḥ ǁ
Fire at his birth has shone out slaying the destroyers, darkness by the light, he found the Ray-Cows, the Waters, the Sun-World.
5.14.5
अ॒ग्निमी॒ळेन्यं॑ क॒विं घृ॒तपृ॑ष्ठं सपर्यत ।
वेतु॑ मे शृ॒णव॒द्धवं॑ ॥
agním īḷényam kavím ghṛtá-pṛṣṭham saparyata ǀ
vétu me śṛṇávat hávam ǁ
Serve Fire the supremely desirable, the seer with his back of Light; may he come, may he hear my call.
5.14.6
अ॒ग्निं घृ॒तेन॑ वावृधुः॒ स्तोमे॑भिर्वि॒श्वच॑र्षणिं ।
स्वा॒धीभि॑र्वच॒स्युभिः॑ ॥
agním ghṛténa vavṛdhuḥ stómebhiḥ viśvá-carṣaṇim ǀ
su-ādhī́bhiḥ vacasyú-bhiḥ ǁ
The Fire they have made to grow by the light, the all-seeing by their lauds that place rightly the thought, that seek for the word.
