sadmamakhas, mighty house

sadma-makhasam, we find both words in the late translations of Sri Aurobindo: sadman, house, home (1946), and makha, mighty (1940s). Monier-Williams: “performing a sacrifice in a sacred precinct”; Sayana, Wilson, Dutt: radiant; Griffit, Kapali: household priest; Kashyap: the priest in the household; Jamison: one besieging the seat; Ganguly: the increaser of the divine home; T.Elizarenkova: bounteously granted seating like of heaven.
