dvimātṛ, having two Mothers

An epithet of Agni, who was born in two regions of Heaven and of Earth, in two places, janitrī, (an original sense of popular now phrase “twice-born”), therefore he is named jātavedas, knowing births of gods and of men and having two Mothers dvi-mātā.
