The epithet of Agni, who has divine and human births and who has two places of birth, two homes, Heaven and Earth; it is the real meaning of the popular phrase “twice-born”. It is because Agni is born in the worlds of both Heaven and Earth, he can be the Traveler between them, the Messenger of the gods and the Messenger of man, the Bearer of offerings from Earth to the gods of Heaven.
