of Rig Veda

śaryaṇāvat, pond (of soma)

Literally, “reedy,” that is, a pond, some receptacle of the Waters; however, unlike the Vedic Ocean, which gets all seven rivers of a particular world or region, this pond contains waters, probably of one stream, possibly of metal consciousness. Since the word is repeatedly mentioned in connection with soma, the interpretation of the word as a place of soma is probably justified.
