Consists of the participle taraṇi and suffix forming abstract nouns -tva. Participle taraṇi was interpreted in this translation of the Vedas as “moving above,” (see tara, passing or carrying across or beyond, crossing, etc.). Monier-Williams gives meaning “zeal”.
