Sukta 28
3.28.1
अग्ने॑ जु॒षस्व॑ नो ह॒विः पु॑रो॒ळाशं॑ जातवेदः ।
प्रा॒तः॒सा॒वे धि॑यावसो ॥
ágne juṣásva naḥ havíḥ puroḷā́śam jāta-vedaḥ ǀ
prātaḥ-sāvé dhiyāvaso␣íti␣dhiyā-vaso ǁ
O Fire, accept our offering, the frontal oblation in the dawn pressing of the wine, O knower of the births, O rich in thought.
3.28.2
पु॒रो॒ळा अ॑ग्ने पच॒तस्तुभ्यं॑ वा घा॒ परि॑ष्कृतः ।
तं जु॑षस्व यविष्ठ्य ॥
puroḷā́ḥ agne pacatáḥ túbhyam vā gha pári-kṛtaḥ ǀ
tám juṣasva yaviṣṭhya ǁ
O Fire, for thee is the frontal offering prepared and dressed, that accept, O youthful god.
3.28.3
अग्ने॑ वी॒हि पु॑रो॒ळाश॒माहु॑तं ति॒रोअ॑ह्न्यं ।
सह॑सः सू॒नुर॑स्यध्व॒रे हि॒तः ॥
ágne vīhí puroḷā́śam ā́-hutam tiráḥ-ahnyam ǀ
sáhasaḥ sūnúḥ asi adhvaré hitáḥ ǁ
O Fire, come to1 the frontal offering that is cast to thee with the disappearance of day; O son of force, thou art established in the rite of the path.
3.28.4
माध्यं॑दिने॒ सव॑ने जातवेदः पुरो॒ळाश॑मि॒ह क॑वे जुषस्व ।
अग्ने॑ य॒ह्वस्य॒ तव॑ भाग॒धेयं॒ न प्र मि॑नंति वि॒दथे॑षु॒ धीराः॑ ॥
mā́dhyandine sávane jāta-vedaḥ puroḷā́śam ihá kave juṣasva ǀ
ágne yahvásya táva bhāga-dhéyam ná prá minanti vidátheṣu dhī́rāḥ ǁ
In the noonday pressing of the wine, O seer, knower of all things born, accept the frontal offering. O Fire, the wise thinkers in their discoveries of knowledge impair not thy portion, who art the mighty one.
3.28.5
अग्ने॑ तृ॒तीये॒ सव॑ने॒ हि कानि॑षः पुरो॒ळाशं॑ सहसः सून॒वाहु॑तं ।
अथा॑ दे॒वेष्व॑ध्व॒रं वि॑प॒न्यया॒ धा रत्न॑वंतम॒मृते॑षु॒ जागृ॑विं ॥
ágne tṛtī́ye sávane hí kā́niṣaḥ puroḷā́śam sahasaḥ sūno␣íti ā́-hutam ǀ
átha devéṣu adhvarám vipanyáyā dhā́ḥ rátna-vantam amṛ́teṣu jā́gṛvim ǁ
O Fire, in the third pressing also thou hast desire of the frontal offering cast to thee, O son of force; do thou by the illumination establish in the gods the pilgrim-sacrifice full of ecstasy and wakeful in the immortals.
3.28.6
अग्ने॑ वृधा॒न आहु॑तिं पुरो॒ळाशं॑ जातवेदः ।
जु॒षस्व॑ ति॒रोअ॑ह्न्यं ॥
ágne vṛdhānáḥ ā́-hutim puroḷā́śam jāta-vedaḥ ǀ
juṣásva tiráḥ-ahnyam ǁ
O Fire, increasing accept the frontal offering, the oblation cast with the disappearance of the day, O knower of all things born.
