গোঁফ, গোঁপ [ gōm̐pha, gōm̐pa ] n moustache; whiskers. গোঁফে তা দেওয়া v. to trim the ends of one's moustache (figuratively this indicates great delight or ease or nonchalance). ̃খেজুর a. extremely lazy (from the story of a person who lay hungry under a date-tree and yet refused to move his hand to reach the date that fell upon his moustache but hoped that a date would fall straight into his mouth).

গোঁয়ানো [ gōm̐ẏānō ] v (mainly poet.) to pass or spend ('ভেবেছিনু দিন মিছে গোঁয়ালেম'); to elapse, to pass by ('মিছে খেলায় দিন গোঁয়াল'); to follow, to go after ('সকল লোক পশ্চাতে গোঁয়ায়'); to co-exist peacefully (তার সঙ্গে গোঁয়ানো শক্ত).

গোঁয়ার [ gōm̐ẏāra ] a obstinate, unyielding, stubborn; headstrong, foolhardy, foolishly rash. ̃গোবিন্দ a. very rash or reckless, devil may-care. ☐ n. a very rash or head strong person, a devil-may-care sort of fellow. ̃তুমি, ̃তমি, গোঁয়ার্তুমি n. obsti nacy, stubbornness; foolhardiness.

গোঁয়ারা [ gōm̐ẏārā ] n the artificial coffin of Hasan and Hussain carried in procession dur ing the festival of Moharram (cp. a feretory); the festival of Moharram.

গোকর্ণ [ gōkarṇa ] n the reach of the thumb and the ring-finger outstretched; the cavity or capacity of a cupped palm of hand.

গোগৃহ [ gōgṛha ] n a cowhouse (usu. a large one), a byre.

গোগ্রাস [ gōgrāsa ] n an offering of sanctified grass to a cow at the end of one's penitence; a large morsel. গোগ্রাসে খাওয়া বা গেলা v. to eat hastily in large morsels, to gobble; to eat ravenously or wolfishly.

গোঘাতক [ gōghātaka ] n a cow-slaughterer.

গোঘ্ন [ gōghna ] a one who or that which kills a cow or cows; a guest (for whom a cow was killed or slaughtered by the host).

গোঙা [ gōṅā ] a unable to speak, dumb. ☐ n. a dumb man, one having no power of speech.

গোঙানো2 [ gōṅānō2 ] v to whimper; to moan; to groan or whine. গোঙানি n. act or noise of whimpering or moaning or groaning or whining.

গোচন্দন [ gōcandana ] n a bright yellow pigment se creted from the kidney of a cow.

গোচর [ gōcara ] n the reach or range of sense-or gans, sense-perception; anything per ceptible by the senses; (astrol.) juris diction or range of influence (শনির গোচর); cognition, knowledge, percep tion (গোচরে আনা, আগোচরে); a grazing ground, a pasture or pasturage. ☐ a. perceptible by or within the range of (নয়নগোচর, শ্রুতিগোচর); used as a graz ing ground (গোচর জমি). গোচরে আনা v. to bring to one's knowledge or notice. গোচরীভূত a. brought to one's knowledge or notice.

গোচারক [ gōcāraka ] n a cowherd.

গোচারণ [ gōcāraṇa ] n act of tending or grazing cows, pasturage. গোচারণ ভূমি n. grazing ground. গোচারণে যাওয়া v. to go to graze or tend cows or beeves.
