of Rig Veda

antarikṣa, mid-world

the middle world between Earth and Heaven, world of Overmind, above three Earthes (physical, vital and mental consciousness) and below the Heavens (supramental Svar and Sachchidananda). It is a plan, where totality and unity of highest principles becomes segmented and while it still admit Light and Truth, it is also a region of separate activities and even of conflict of movements of its gods and powers.

In the system of seven worlds, the Middle world appears as one world, but several times in Veda the Middle worlds repeatedly mentioned as several worlds. Probably, in such cases the Veda speaks on those several levels of consciousness that are higher than the mental, but lower than the supramental, which Sri Aurobindo in his works called Illuminated mind, Intuitive mind and Overmind.
