hariva, Master of bright steeds

Indra is Master of two bright horses, of two supramental abilities of direct perceiving of the Truth through its hearing, śruti, imaged by his left horse Savya, and through its vision, dṛṣṭi, his right horse Dakshina. Both these perceptions together make Indra’s lightning, that illuminates our darkness, splits our rocks, release waters, cows, Sun, kills the Enemy.
