dyumna, illumination (of the Truth)

The Light is an essential quality and aspect of Consciousness and of its Tapas; it is the heavenly illumination, that reveals the divine Truth and in man it is an overmental ability of direct perception of the Truth, its direct vision, dṛṣṭi, that make man a seer. All gods are bright and illuminating, the Light is constantly connected with Indra and with his lightning (vidyut, vajra), the heavenly ablaze of the vision and thunder of neavenly hearing of the Truth, the Light is the overpouring light power, śavas of the god; Light is one of the main qualities of Surya-Savitri, Dawn, and of the worlds of Heaven, it is the constant quality of the Maruts, Varuna, the Asvins, it is bright might of Agni.
