of Rig Veda

araṇi, arani

Two pieces of wood used for kindling fire by friction. Here we have two symbols: (1) a tree is a symbol of thought rising toward Heaven (2) double symbol of two pieces, when the upper one is a direct vision and hiering of the Truth (Drishti and Shruti) whereas the lower is our mind and both are needed for Vedic work.
