dasyu, Dasyu

Dasyu is the name of various (including Panis, Namuci, Pipru, Śambara, Varcin, Śushna, Arbuda etc) dark forces that, being submental, unthinking, act in the mental world (in mountain) by means of their Maya, they are unable to bear deadly for them higher thought or the Word of wisdom (mouthless), they however speak hostilely, cursers, without faith, lawless, not sacrificing, not increasing, but rich in the wealth that they keep from man. Indra easily kills Dasyu by words of wisdom. Creating a wide light for Arya, Agni expels Dasyus out of the man’s house, soma, hymn-offering, kills every Dasyu.
